• Art in the Parks: The Big Paint - March

The project, funded by Awards for All, began on 7th May in West End Park, March. Around forty people turned up to the workshops which ran throughout the day in the open air. With artists on hand the public tried their hand at all sorts of painting and drawing techniques.

The workshops were designed for adult enthusiasts, though accompanied children were catered for - so long as their parents took part.
Despite the blustery weather it was a very successful day with the public just 'turning up' and having a go.

There will be further workshops;

14th May Wisbech Park
21st May Wenny Road Rec, Chatteris
28th May Manor Leisure Centre, Whittlesey

Each workshop runs from 10.00am - 4.00pm and people may stay as long as they like. There will be leaders and volunteers in attendance. Invitations are extended to all members of the Collective to come along and help out and join in. There will be no charge to anybody. The more experienced artists may bring their own equipment if they wish. If not the project will provide all that is needed.

The work that is done on the day is kept by the Collective. A selection of the work will be chosen, framed and taken on tour around the district. There are four venues booked for exhibition; one in each of the market towns.
When the project ends people may collect their work and those pictures chosen for exhibition will be returned in the frame.
