Read the Fenland Visual Arts Collective constitution
FENLAND VISUAL ARTS COLLECTIVE CONSTITUTION
1. The name of the organisation shall be the FENLAND VISUAL ARTS COLLECTIVE.
2. The aims of the organisation are to:
• improve the quantity and quality of opportunities for visual artists (1)
• improve access to the visual arts
3. Membership shall be open to any person who is an artist or supports the arts. Members must complete a membership form.
4. The day to day running of the organisation, and all financial decisions, shall be in the hands of a Committee comprising: a Chair person, Vice Chair person, Treasurer and up to five other members. The FDC Arts Development Manager shall be an ex officio member of the Committee. The Committee may decide to co-opt further members, in an advisory capacity, for the remainder of the current year, or for a lesser time. The committee shall meet as required but at least twice in a year.
5. The organisation shall meet quarterly at dates, times and venues decided by the AGM. One of these meetings will be the Annual meeting. The Annual meeting will receive and approve the accounts for the previous year and elect all the members of the Committee and transact any other relevant business. The other meetings will be used to exchange information with members and for members to give direction to the Committee. The Committee will take account of members wishes.
6. The Treasurer shall hold monies on behalf of the organisation and shall be a signatory to any bank accounts. All bank accounts opened in the Organisation's name shall require two signatories to withdraw funds. The AGM shall decide the named members entitled to sign in addition to the Treasurer.
7.The AGM shall be quorate with however many members are present providing that the AGM date, time and location has been circulated to members with at least 28 days notice. Committee meetings shall require at least one half of those eligible to vote to be present.
8. Proposals to alter this Constitution may only be made by a member notifying the Chair person of the amendment in writing at least 14 days prior to the AGM.
9. In the event that the organisation is wound up the funds remaining shall be distributed to voluntary/charitable arts organisations in Fenland District as decided by the Committee.
(1) Visual Arts are artifacts which may be placed in a space and looked at by the public.
